Today St Benedicts were lucky enough to have a visit from a world class athlete, he is a middle distance runner specialising in the 1500m. He has represented Great Britain at junior and senior level on the track, and has competed at Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European Championships. In 2010 he ran a PB of 3:33.9 for 1500m at the Brussels Diamond League, a time which was the fastest by a British athlete for 5 years. Today he helped all our children by motivating them with words of encouragement to complete 4 mini circuits! We then had a whole school assembly where he talked about how determined he was to succeed as an athlete and on how he had to make sacrifices in order to do this! He was such an inspiration to everyone.
