As part of our science topic on our local environment, we went on a trip to the canal. We wanted to explore our local area and the goal was to closely observe and identify a variety of plants and animals in their habitat. The children took magnifying glasses and bug catchers as their science equipment and also took identification sheets to help them to identify different plants, berries and animals. The children were very successful at using these sheets to name and identify a variety of wildlife and plants.
